Homework Assignments Week 3 - Introspections III
5) Reading (Blog)
Here are the reflections about what I've found more interesting on those pages, and from the pages that had more impact on my mind:
-> "The formless thing which gives thing form".
- Isn't it the same with language? having portuguese as my first language I have this kind of sensation all the time. Not every word has a similar word that matches the meaning in another language, and sometimes words bring a sensation, a feeling, a formless and shapeless image in your head that somehow makes you know what that means, even not having a translated word to associate with. This is what I consider an image.
-> What is an image?
An image is how you picture/ portrait/ figure the meaning of everything
I loved it: Something can only become an illusion after disillusionment. Before that it is something real!
So, an IMAGE is actually "thinking". And "thinking"is imagination + memory.
memory = past = what you've learned
imagination = based on what you have learned, what kind of new things can you figure?
so, memory + imagination = TO THINK = IMAGE!
interesting!
~ breeze ~
~ breeze ~ isn't only the fresh and soft wind coming from the sea. breeze is a verb. To Breeze. It means more than the softness, the freshness... it is an action! The action of being tripping on good things life offers to us. The action of being able to appreciate how life is interesting in each little detail. Means happiness. Means peace. Have a good breeze.

Homework Assignments Week 3 - INTROSPECTION III
3) Your "animal"dialog scene (Blog)
Bruna - Fish
Gaby - Turtle
C.J. - Eagle
Narrator:
This is the story of Fisk wanting to steal the sky from eagle, so that all the Earth will be blue water. Eagle realizes that if Fish gets he way, then turtle and all the other inhabitants of what's in between will perish. So Eagle proposes to fish that they say poetry to one another. Turtle will decide which poetry is more beautiful, however it will be unknown to turtle what is in the balance. Turtle is the judge, but he has no idea his world and all it inhabitants are at stake.
Fish begins:
I propose to you Eagle that my voice and my words are more beautiful than you can imagine. Do you dare to face off against me?
Eagle:
You are possibly right, for I have heard waves crashing against the shore, I have stopped along the cliffs and have found the lapping of water tranquil, but I do not think you have heard the beauty of stillness in the skies, I do not think you know the song of my wings against the wind or the movement of the rays of light coming from the sun, our creator.
Fish:
Let's ask turtle to be the judge. Turtle, will you listen to our words and judge who has the prettiest voice amongst us? will you?
Turtle:
As you may or may not know, my clan is a slow moving one and we are great listeners, so I think I would be excellent at this job, however, I have no sum, no reward to give the better of you two, therefore what good will such a competition be if there can not be a clear return to the winner?
Narrator:
Fish and Eagle kept silent for a moment , staring deeply into one another's eyes, then looking away, then looking at all the creatures in Turtles's world.
Eagle:
I know, if I'm judged the better, then all the creatures of Turtle's world have to stand and clap and dance wildly, for my pleasure.
Fish:
And If I'm judged the better, then all the creatures of Turtle's world must go to sleep for a very long time that I might swim uninterrupted.
Narrator:
To this turtle agreed.
Turtle:
Let the competition begin.
Eagle:
Since neither now nor yesterday began
These thoughts, which have been ever, nor yet can
A man be found who first entrance knew
(and then he paused)
Fish:
All well and good but listen here:
The lords of life, the lords of life, I saw them pass on their own guise, like and unlike, portly and grim, use and surprise, surface and dream. They marched from east west, little man, least of all
Eagle:
Aye, but temperament without a tongue, and the inventor of the game, omnipresent without name, among the legs of his guardian tall, walked about with puzzled look. Him by the hand dear nature took.
Fish:
Very good, very good, but pray I should continue, dearest nature, strong and kind, whispered darling never mind, tomorrow they will wear another face, the founder thou, these are thy race.
Narrator:
At this, it was obvious to all who were gathered that Turtle would have a time of it, in deciding who the victor should be, so he paused and said.
Turtle:
I have heard you both, in your eloquence I'm bound to be fit to be tied, but I;m not a fan to such a competition, for I fear to reward the one without the other for such music would be wrong, so since there are no rules to this thing, I give you each a crown.

4) The Car - blog
I haven't written this story in class, but I have a story from my childhood about me and a car!
When I was very little, my mom use to have a Towner..
I have a younger brother, he is 18 now and a younger sister which is 17 now! At the time we were 3 crazy children and my mom could have gotten crazy with us! ahaha, so she bought this car because it's pretty big and she could drive while we were playing, jumping and messing up in the back seat. One time we got home and everybody left the car... and I used to seat in the second back seat, and jump through the middle seats to get in the back door and leave the car. This time when I jumped I hit my forehead in the front seat. The front seat bended with the impact of my forehead and I opened a huge cut on my eyebrow.
I just remember myself sitting in the coach and crying because that was the first time I saw blood coming out me! My dad went upstairs to get the keys, and his wallet before take me to the hospital and I was so scared that I pasted out in the couch for 30 minutes. He waited till I wake up, the blood in my forehead was already dry.. he took me to the hospital and as the matter of fact the cut wasn't even that big...At the hospital they didn't sew the cut... the doctor just made a dressing and sent me back home. That was scary because I was a child and I remember I felt crazy when I saw the blood in my face, for me, at that time, It looked like something so big! I still have the scar on my eyebrow, and I kind of like it for the memories that it brings to me. My parents haven't divorced yet at this time, we haven't moved to other house... It was the beginning of my childhood! My sister was still a baby and she only could ride the car sitting in these little seats attached for babies using. Me and my brother use to play and fight all the time, now we are best friends... but when we were little we had moments hating each other and also loving each other! . Both of my grandmas were still alive at this time... I miss these times. Good Times.

Homework Assignments - Week 3 - INTROSPECTION III
1) Family Story Part ONE (Blog)
Grandma and The Geckos
The story is told by the grandma.
She is the narrator, her voice is in the background and the movie goes as she tells the story. Images reproduced in "memories style".
Conception:
(draft for the grandma's narration)
Since always I'm who makes the most delicious dishes for every family holidays, Christmas turkey, lasagna for Mother's Day, Easter breakfast and the favorite birthday cake for each one of my eight grandchildren.
It was the anniversary of my granddaughter, and I had prepared a chocolate truffle cake with chocolate icing and chocolate chips. Believe me, she really loves chocolate.
The house where I live is still the same since me and my husband got married, a giant house, that my husband built himself. There are five rooms, each with an attached bathroom. The largest and main room for me and my husband, and the other three rooms were for each of my children. The children who now do not live with me anymore; and now they have their own homes with their own rooms and children. It's how life goes.
There is another thing, besides rooms, bathrooms and children, that I have lots and lots at my house: geckos. It a big house with a green yard in the background and a cherry tree loved by the kids and the birds.
Over the years the children have grown, my husband stopped taking care of us from Earth and started watching us from the sky. Now my daily company is the children of my children. I look after their children while my children are at work. It is fun! During the week I alternate days with the other grandmother. When our afternoon of fun ends what I have left to keep me distracted are the cherry tree and the friendly geckos.
It was the anniversary of my fourth granddaughter and I prepared her favorite cake on the night before. I left it cooling down on the table while I was taking a shower, the filling was ready, just needed to spread the cover and put it in the fridge!I heard some sounds and a noise coming from the kitchen as if something was being dragged. When I went downstairs to finish preparing the cake there was nothing on the table.
"This geckos never get tired of sneaking up on me" - I thought.
They took the cake, but they left a trail of chocolate that started at the kitchen, passed by the cherry tree and ended in the backyard, where I found the geckos sleeping on their backs, and only cake crumbs were in the plate.I woke them up yelling really loud, I was so nervous that my voice made them jump with fright.I decided to have a serious talk with that little creatures, Granny to gecko. We agreed that they would have a night to make another cake, my granddaughter would arrive in the morning and at tho point the cake shall be waiting for her.
They agreed.

They agreed.
The next morning my granddaughter arrived early at my house, much earlier than usual; and even before I could hug her and smothers her with my Happy Birthday kisses she ran to the kitchen and yelled, "Grammmy, where's my cake? ". She had almost the entire body into the refrigerator.
It's at the bottom of the refrigerator, sweeeety! I said.
She opened the stove and said "Noo, it's not Grandma! I can't find it!"
I could hear a sigh sadly right after hear the cooker's lid closing. By this breath I knew that the geckos had not fulfilled their promise. I hastened picking up the ingredients to make another cake before lunch.I could see in the eyes of my Little that she was disappointed, she left the room and head down to the backyard. Thoughtfully, wondering why her grandmother hasn't made her favorite cake this year, as she does every year.
I was about to mix the sugar with the cocoa powder when I heard a whoop of joy: GRAMMY - you fooled me!!
I went to the backyard and there was a cake on the table, a really pretty one! With chocolate filling, truffle coverage and the phrase "Happy Birthday My Pretty Little Girl!"
Me and my granddaughter ate till we fell completely full of chocolate, then we watched cartoons on the tv until she fall asleep.
I thanked the geckos and offered them a piece of that delicious cake.
Later, I told my granddaughter what had happened with the cake and the geckos. She just looked at me and smiled.
My Little has never seen the geckos, but she never doubted they exist.
